Talk 1 (2 – 3:30PM): Arts Festival Future Proofing: What Is a Festival For “Now” and Beyond?

As Singapore’s flagship arts festival approaches its 50th milestone in 2027, this forum explores what comes next. The invited panel will trace its evolution from a cultural showcase to a civic space, examining festivals as sites of encounter, restoration, and debate. In so doing, the forum hopes to reimagine a festival’s role in shaping communities, expanding access, and inspiring new artistic futures.
